An in-house Maintenance Guide for the Pedco Sortaweigh 400 High-speed weighing system (excerpt)

This maintenance guide was created using Microsoft Word. Graphics were constructed, edited, and optimized using Paintshop Pro.

This was produced very early in Jim's career; if created today, we would use FrameMaker and PhotoShop and use color more judiciously.

Cluster Extension (CLX) XP User Guide (excerpt)

The Cluster Extension guide is an older one, prior to conversion to XML. It was edited and maintained using FrameMaker.

Tru64 OS Guide

The Tru64 OS Guide was completed after switching to Epic Editor (XML) and was loaded into and maintained using the Vasont Content Management System.

RAID Manager User Guide (excerpt)

The RAID Manager User Guide, though having the appearance of the XML manuals, was maintained and edited using FrameMaker. It was converted to XML in a later edition.

All three of these software manuals are older versions and have been superseded by more recent versions. All manuals required extensive liaison and collaboration with engineers, developers, other writers, and management.

All of these were originally maintained and edited with FrameMaker. Later, all were converted to XML using Epic Editor and managed with the Vasont Content Management System.

These three are representative of the 19 installation, user, adminstrator, and OS configuration guides maintained for HP.

These quick reference guides were created using Microsoft Word. Graphics were constructed, edited, and optimized using Paintshop Pro.

 

If created today, we would use FrameMaker and PhotoShop, reduce the size, and use color more judiciously.
